Alberta is a province in Western Canada. Its landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands and vast coniferous forests. It has more than 600 lakes, and rich mineral deposits. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks have glaciers in the Columbia Icefields. The West in the summertime means hot weather, fields of yellow canola, the "Greatest Outdoor Show" in the World, and many beautiful sights to admire.  You will experience the Calgary Stampede, "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth", as well as visits in the rural areas of Central Alberta and into the Canadian Rocky Mountain range.  Continuing on to the province of Saskatchewan, you will spend time at the "Ag In Motion" Farm Show.  Further on, you will visit the province of Ontario and such places as St. Jacobs and the Amish, Niagara Falls and Stratford.

 DAY 01 - Sun 07 July - CALGARY (D)
Your adventure begins as you arrived Calgary and transfer to a hotel for a two-night stay.  Join us for a “Welcome Dinner” this evening.  For those arranging their own flight details, schedule your arrival prior to 3 pm. Overnight: Calgary

DAY 02 - Mon 08 July - CALGARY (B)
Following breakfast, enjoy a morning visit to world-famous Spruce Meadows, an international horse jumping facility.  From here you will transfer to Stampede Park, home the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" Calgary Stampede.  There will be time to explore the agricultural exhibits and pavilions on our own.  This evening there is reserved seating for the world famous Chuckwagon Races, Grandstand show and Fireworks. (NOTE: this will be a late evening)

DAY 03 - Tue 09 July - CALGARY - STRATHMORE (B/D)
This morning for breakfast, you will enjoy a traditional "Stampede Breakfast" before returning to Stampede Park for the day.  This afternoon, there are reserved seats for you to take in the Calgary Stampede Rodeo.   The caliber of a rodeo comes down to two things: the skill of the competitors and the quality of the horses, bulls and steers. The Stampede Rodeo features the world’s best competitors and animals.  Every afternoon, cowboys and cowgirls face off in a furious display of skill and grit, with every win building towards Showdown Sunday—Rodeo’s Richest Afternoon.  After the rodeo, travel to Strathmore for the night including an "Alberta Beef Steak Dinner.

DAY 04 - Wed 10 July - STRATHMORE - RED DEER (B/L/D)
Following breakfast at the hotel, depart Strathmore and travel through the rich farm land to the town of Three Hills, a typical Alberta prairie town.  Visit a high output, large-scale grain storage elevator before having lunch in Three Hills.  Continue driving north this afternoon where you will visit a local Hutterite colony.  The Hutterites are a communal people, living on hundreds of colonies throughout the prairies of northwestern North America.  On average, fifteen families live and work on the typical Hutterite colony, where they farm, raise livestock and produce manufactured goods for sustenance.  From there, drive to the Layden Family Farm that produces mainly Malt Barley, Wheat & Canola.  Enjoy a BBQ at the farm then depart for the city of Red Deer and check into hotel for 2 nights.

DAY 05 - Thu 11 July - RED DEER AND AREA   (B/D)
Today starts with a visit and tour to a large dairy operation.  Following lunch, you will visit the Star Cheese operation.  Star Cheese is a field to final product with award winning Gouda from the heart of Alberta.  The cheese is made from the milk of their own cows, raised and fed on their land and crafted in a time honored, traditional way.   The farm produces Gouda, Swiss Style and Edam.  On the return to Red Deer, visit a large farm machinery dealership with dinner later this evening.

DAY 06 - Fri 12 July - RED DEER - BANFF NATIONAL PARK   (B/L/D)
After breakfast at the hotel, travel west through the farming and ranching country into the Foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  A coffee stop will be made in Rocky Mountain House, the "Gateway to the Canadian Rockies".  From here, continue the journey past Lake Abraham, one of Canada's largest man-made lakes, before entering Banff National Park for lunch.  This afternoon drive to the Columbia Icefields Discovery Center where you board an amazing SnoCoach glacier ride onto the Glacier surface.  The Columbia Icefields are situated inside Jasper National Park.  Return to hotel for the night including a buffet dinner.  These accommodations are situated in the heart of the Canadian Rockies situated in Banff National Park.  Overnight: The Crossing Resort

DAY 07 - Sat 13 July - SASKATCHEWAN RIVER CROSSING - LAKE LOUISE - BANFF   (B/D)     
Enjoy a buffet breakfast the The Crossing Resort then travel along the scenic Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in Canada.  Photo stops will be made at Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, and famed Lake Louise.  There will be time to have lunch on your own before continuing on to Banff.  This afternoon enjoy a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain for a 360 degree view over the mountain peaks and the valley below.  Visit Bow Falls and view Banff Springs Hotel before arriving at the hotel for the night.

DAY 08 - Sun 14 July    BANFF - KANANASKIS COUNTRY - LETHBRIDGE   (B/L/D)
Leaving Banff behind travel through one of Alberta’s best kept secrets, Kananaskis Country.  This unspoiled region of the country boasts wildlife viewing plus Canada’s highest paved highway.   Arrive at the Bar U Ranch, where the views are breathtaking as one can see the wagons pulled by Percheron horses.  Discover the life of a ranching cowboy from the late 1800s at the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site.  Depart for “Head- Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump”.  The Head-Smash-In-Buffalo-Jump is a UNESCO World Heritage Site placing it among other world heritage monuments such as the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge and the Galapagos Islands.  Later in the afternoon arrive into the city of Lethbridge for a 2-night stay.  Dinner this evening will be in partnership with independent farmers and producers in and around the community.  Overnight:  Lethbridge

DAY 09 - Mon 15 July LETHBRIDGE   (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel then depart for a visit to a local Greenhouse and Vegetable Farm that grows tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.  Drive to the community of Picture Butte to Kosters Dutch Bakery for a coffee stop before arriving at the VRP Farms and a tour of one of their large feedlot operations.  This is one of the largest feedlot operations in all of Canada and is situated in an area known as “Feedlot Alley”.  After lunch in the community of Coaldale, depart for a visit to a farm operation growing potatoes, sugar beets and beans.  This farm operates an irrigation farming operation.  Return to Lethbridge for the night.    Overnight:  Lethbridge

DAY 10 - Tue 16 July LETHBRIDGE - MEDICINE HAT  (B/D)
Another day visiting the different agricultural operations that are found in this region of the province.  View a large grain growing operation before departing Lethbridge for Bow Island and a tour of a farming operation growing peppermint used for toothpaste and oil extraction as well as other farming activities such as wheat production.  Group will overnight in the city of Medicine Hat situated in the southeast corner of Alberta.   Overnight:  Medicine Hat

DAY 11 - Wed 17 July   MEDICINE HAT - SASKATOON  (B/L)
Breakfast at hotel then travel north and into the province of Saskatchewan.  This province, diagonal from west to east, is the area commonly called the "grain belt," level or gently rolling plains marked by fertile soils that make Saskatchewan one of the world's great wheat producers.  Travel to the farming community of Davidson to visit a large cereal grain operation for a tour and lunch.  This afternoon arrive into the city of Saskatoon.  Tour the Flexicoil Seed Equipment and Manufacturing facilities before checking into hotel for a 2-night stay.  Dinner is on your own this evening.    Overnight:  Saskatoon

DAY 12 - Thu 18 July   "AG IN MOTION" FARM SHOW  (B)
Breakfast in the hotel then enjoy a full day at “Ag in Motion”, Western Canada’s first outdoor farm expo, and situated on 320 acres of prime agricultural land.  The annual expo will feature live demonstrations of field equipment, crop plots and interactive agribusiness exhibits showcasing the products and services relevant to the agricultural industry.   Return to hotel later this afternoon.   Overnight:  Saskatoon

DAY 13 - Fri 19 July  SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN - TORONTO, ONTARIO - ST. JACOBS, ONTARIO  (B/D)
After Breakfast transfer to Saskatoon airport for flight into Toronto, Ontario.  This flight is included in the pricing below. (NOTE:  There is a two-hour time change between Saskatoon and Toronto).  Arrive Toronto then drive out of the city to the St. Jacobs area for the night with dinner enroute.  Arrive hotel for a 2-night stay.   Overnight:  St. Jacobs

DAY 14 - Sat 20 Jul - ST. JACOBS, ONTARIO   (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel then visit the St. Jacobs Farmers Market.  It is the largest year-round farmer's market in Canada, and is a popular destination for residents of the town and nearby communities, as well as tourists from Canada, the United States, and Europe.  It draws about 1 million visitors annually.  This is  Mennonite country and you get a tour into the countryside before lunch.  This afternoon visit a local farm growing soya beans, corn and beans.  Return to hotel for the night.

DAY 15 - Sun 21 Jul - ST. JACOBS - NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO   (B/L)
Breakfast in the hotel then travel to the Niagara Wine Region for tour and tasting.   Arrive hotel at Niagara Falls including a voyage of the “Maid of the Mist” under the falls?  Overnight:  Niagara Falls

DAY 16 - Mon 22 Jul - NIAGARA FALLS REGION - LONDON, ONTARIO    (B/L)
Breakfast in the hotel then depart for the Tobacco, Ginseng & Vegetable growing region for a tour of a local farm.  Have lunch then visit a robot dairy operation.  Arrive at hotel in London, Ontario for a 2-night stay.  Overnight:  London

DAY 17 - Tue 23 Jul - LONDON - CHATHAM - LONDON, ONTARIO    (B/L/D)
Depart hotel after breakfast and drive to visit a large greenhouse operation which grows peppers and/or tomatoes.  Have lunch in the local town then visit a large seed cleaning and processing plant.  The facility processes, cleans, and bags only the finest quality food grade soybeans for distribution internationally and has been growing, processing and distributing pedigree soybean seeds for over three decades.  They specialize in white hilum, non-GMO and Round-Up Ready soybean seed.  Return to hotel in London, Ontario for dinner and the night.  Overnight:  London
