This annual 10-day tour gives you a wonderful overview of farming in both Alberta and Saskatchewan plus visiting some of the highlights of the Canadian Rockies. Alberta is a province in Western Canada. Its landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands and vast coniferous forests. It has more than 600 lakes, and rich mineral deposits. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks have glaciers in the Columbia Icefields. The West in the summertime means hot weather, fields of yellow canola, and many beautiful sights to admire.  You will experience visits in the rural areas of Central Alberta and into the Canadian Rocky Mountain range.  Continuing on to the province of Saskatchewan, you will spend time at the "Ag In Motion" Farm Show.

DAY 01 - Wed 08 July - CALGARY (D)
Your adventure begins as you arrive Calgary, before 12 noon, and make your way to the hotel for a two-night stay.  Afternoon transfer to the Calgary Stampede (the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!) to explore the exhibits on your own. Transfer back to hotel later in the afternoon. (Afternoon Rodeo Tickets must be booked in advance and are at an additional cost)

DAY 02 - Thu 09 July - CALGARY (B)
Following breakfast, enjoy a morning visit to world-famous Spruce Meadows, an international horse jumping facility.  From here you will transfer to Stampede Park, home the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" Calgary Stampede.  There will be time to explore the agricultural exhibits and pavilions on our own.  This evening there is reserved seating for the world famous Chuckwagon Races, Grandstand show and Fireworks. (NOTE: this will be a late evening)

DAY 03 - Fri 10 July - CALGARY - LETHBRIDGE (B/D)
Departing from Calgary, a visit will be made to a feedlot as well as a visit to a Hutterite Colony before checking into a Lethbridge hotel for a 2-night stay. The Hutterites are a communal people, living on hundreds of colonies throughout the prairies of northwestern North America.  On average, fifteen families live and work on the typical Hutterite colony, where they farm, raise livestock and produce manufactured goods for sustenance. Dinner this evening at a local restaurant featuring Alberta grown produce.

DAY 04 - Sat 11 July LETHBRIDGE   (B)
Breakfast at the hotel then depart for an agriculture tour. Drive through an area known as “Feedlot Alley”. Visit many farms that grow potatoes, sugar beets and beans in this area of Alberta known for irrigation farming operations.  Return to Lethbridge for the night.    Overnight:  Lethbridge

DAY 05 - Sun 12 July - LETHBRIDGE - CANADIAN ROCKIES (B/D)
Leaving behind the prairies and farm land, travel into the foothills of Alberta where most of the cattle ranching takes place. Further west, enter the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains with amazing scenery.  Take a ride on the Banff Gondola up the side of Sulphur Mountain for spectacular views.  Visit Lake Louise, Bow Lake and Peyto Lake, all crowning jewels in Banff National Park.  Rugged mountains will be the backdrop of the hotel accommodations this evening.

DAY 06 - Mon 13 July - CANADIAN ROCKIES - RED DEER   (B)
Today travel along the scenic Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in Canada. Drive to the Columbia Icefields Discovery Center where you board an amazing SnoCoach glacier ride onto the Glacier surface.  The Columbia Icefields are situated inside Jasper National Park. Leaving the mountains behind, travel into the farming as well as oil and gas center of Alberta to the City of Red Deer. Check into hotel for a 2-night stay.

DAY 07 - Tue 14 July - RED DEER   (B/D)
Today’s visits will include a dairy farm, a massive grain storage facility as well as a family farm that grows wheat, canola and malt barley. For a treat, taste a locally brewed beer using the farm-grown barley. Dinner this evening at the local golf course before returning to Red Deer for the night.  Overnight: Red Deer

DAY 08 - Wed 15 July - RED DEER, AB - SASKATOON, SK   (B)     
Breakfast at hotel then travel into the province of Saskatchewan.  This province, diagonal from west to east, is the area commonly called the "grain belt," level or gently rolling plains marked by fertile soils that make Saskatchewan one of the world's great wheat producers.  This afternoon arrive into the city of Saskatoon for a 2-night stay. Overnight:  Saskatoon

DAY 09 - Thu 16 July   "AG IN MOTION" FARM SHOW  (B)
Breakfast in the hotel then enjoy a full day at “Ag in Motion”, Western Canada’s first outdoor farm expo, and situated on 320 acres of prime agricultural land.  The annual expo will feature live demonstrations of field equipment, crop plots and interactive agribusiness exhibits showcasing the products and services relevant to the agricultural industry.   Return to hotel later this afternoon.   Overnight:  Saskatoon

DAY 10 - Fri 17 July  END OF TOUR  (B)
This agricultural visit has come to an end with a visit to the Flexicoil Seed Equipment and Manufacturing facilities then a transfer to theSaskatoon airport for your flight home.
